We are pleased to announce that Steve Piggot has been appointed as the next Principal for Kibworth Mead Academy following a competitive field and rigorous assessment processes. He will join the school in September.
Mr Piggot has over two decades of experience working within secondary education, including four years as the Principal of Fullhurst Community College, a successful secondary school in Leicester City. During his time as Principal of Fullhurst the success of the school was recognised nationally by the Department for Education and by being shortlisted for the national school of the year award. Prior to working at Fullhurst, he was a member of the senior leadership team at Guilsborough Academy in Northamptonshire.
Head of School Simon Renshaw says: “Due to his leadership experience, we know Mr Piggot will make a significant contribution to our school community from the start. He is fully aligned with the new values of the school and as such the direction of travel in terms of improvement will remain the same.”
Mark Oldman will continue as Executive Principal over both Kibworth Mead and Orchard Mead, Mr Renshaw will be moving to a new role in the Trust.
A suite of open evenings will be held later this summer term, where families will have an opportunity to meet and hear from our new Principal directly and visit with subject teams and departments.
